Dinner with Writer Friends Day 13

Karyn Cole and L.K. Lien

I had a wonderful dinner last night with two of my writer friends. That’s Karyn Cole on the left, and L. K. Lien on the right. We discussed the Christmas anthology project our local writers group is putting together. Karyn read us part of her story, and it was hilarious. Her heroine is smart, sassy, and knows how to deliver some great one-liners.

I’ve only known these two writers for about a year, but it’s going to be really hard to leave them behind when my husband and I move to Austin. Oh, there’s Skype and conference calling and email, but it’s just not the same as sitting around a table with good friends, talking about writing, and laughing at the absurdities of life.

Ladies, I love you both.          Can you say “road trip?”

Until tomorrow…

How do you stay in touch with good friends who no longer live nearby? What works best?

It’s great to have writer friends to share with. Who else understands when you say, “My secondary character is taking over, and I can’t control him!”
